Horse racing is one of Japan's big spectator sports, and the Japan Cup is its best-known international race. The 2026 edition runs on Sunday 29 November at Tokyo Racecourse in Fuchu, over 2,400 metres on turf. The organiser, the Japan Racing Association (JRA), has made its bonus for the race one of the largest in the world, which helps to bring international runners.
Why a race day works for groups
- An easy day out. Tokyo Racecourse is in Fuchu, west of central Tokyo, and easy to reach by train or by road.
- A real local crowd. Big race days draw large, enthusiastic crowds, and the atmosphere is very different from a sightseeing day.
- Something for everyone. Racing fans come for the horses. Other clients enjoy the crowd, the food and the paddock.
- Beyond the Japan Cup. The JRA runs races at Tokyo and other courses on most weekends through the year, so a race day can fit many dates.

What to plan
- Seats. Reserved seats for big races are in high demand. We plan seating requests as early as the release allows.
- Crowds. Trains to the course are very full on the Japan Cup day. We plan the arrival and departure times, or use a private vehicle.
- Betting. Betting at the course is legal for adults. We give clients a short, simple briefing, and we never place bets on their behalf.
- Weather. Late November is cool and dry, but the stands can be cold. Clients should dress in layers.

How we plan it
We handle seating requests, transport, a guide who can explain the day, and a meal before or after. The race day fits a Tokyo incentive programme well. For more sports ideas, see our sports hospitality guide, our baseball guide and our event tickets guide.
