Explera DMC Japan is planning 2027 family and school groups around a rebuilt Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland. Oriental Land Company, which runs the park, named the new rides on 13 August 2026: Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue opens in spring 2027, and Space Mountain Earthrise follows later in 2027.
Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue is the first attraction based on the film Wreck-It Ralph at any Disney park. Space Mountain Earthrise replaces the original Space Mountain with a new building and ride system.
What opens in Tomorrowland in 2027?
- Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, spring 2027. A ride inside the candy racing game from Wreck-It Ralph, on the site of the former Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters.
- Space Mountain Earthrise, 2027. The new Space Mountain stays an indoor roller coaster, with a new building, ride system and story. No month has been given.
- Tomorrowland Plaza. The square around the new rides is rebuilt and renamed.
- New shops and food. A merchandise shop called Pixel Prism, a food outlet called Element Express and a popcorn stand called Popping Station.
How do we plan groups around the opening?
- Expect busy months. New rides draw crowds, so for the first months we plan park days on weekdays and avoid Japanese school holidays.
- Check height and age rules. Ride rules are not yet published. We check them before we book a family or school group.
- Keep the plan flexible. Space Mountain Earthrise has no opening month yet, so we do not sell a 2027 trip on that ride alone.
- Book tickets and hotels early. We arrange park tickets, hotels and transfers from a Tokyo base so the day runs smoothly.
