Explera DMC Japan is adding Hotel Gajoen Tokyo to its luxury and event planning for 2027. Hilton announced in June 2026 that the Meguro hotel will join its LXR Hotels & Resorts brand, with the LXR debut set for 2027. It has 60 rooms and about 5,700 square metres of meeting and event space.

Rooms and restaurants reopen in stages before the brand change. It will be the first LXR hotel in Tokyo and the second in Japan, after ROKU KYOTO.

What is changing at Hotel Gajoen Tokyo?

  • A new brand in 2027. The hotel becomes part of LXR Hotels & Resorts, Hilton's collection of independent luxury hotels. The owner is Brookfield, and Hilton manages the hotel.
  • 60 rooms. Hilton's release lists 60 rooms, with suites larger than 100 square metres.
  • Five restaurants and a spa. The hotel also has a fitness centre.
  • About 5,700 square metres of event space. This is a large amount of space for a hotel with only 60 rooms.
  • A long history. The Gajoen restaurant opened in 1928 and moved to Meguro in 1931. The Hyakudan Kaidan, a wooden building from the 1930s with painted rooms linked by a long staircase, is part of the site.

How do we plan groups around it?

  • Events first, rooms second. With 60 rooms and a lot of event space, the hotel suits a gala dinner, a launch or a conference day better than a large group stay. We often pair it with a second hotel for the rooms.
  • Small luxury groups. For a small incentive or a board meeting, the suites and the art collection make a strong private programme.
  • Art and culture. The decorated rooms of the Hyakudan Kaidan can be part of a cultural evening, subject to the hotel's own access rules.
  • Wait for the dates. We quote the hotel once LXR rates and the 2027 date are released, and keep an alternative venue in every plan until then.
