JUNGLIA OKINAWA: Planning Group Days in Northern Okinawa

27 October 2026 · Explera Trade Desk · 2 min read

Explera DMC Japan now builds northern Okinawa programmes around JUNGLIA OKINAWA, the theme park that opened on 25 July 2025 on land spanning Nakijin and Nago. On 29 April 2026 the park added the YAMBARU TORNADO, a large thrill ride that seats up to 48 people, so groups can now count on more rides per day.

The park is run by Japan Entertainment, a company based in Nago, and sits in the forested north of Okinawa's main island, a long way from Naha.

What is at JUNGLIA OKINAWA?

  • Rides set in the forest. Attractions include a dinosaur safari and the Horizon Balloon, a balloon ride over the park and its views.
  • A new thrill ride. The YAMBARU TORNADO opened in the Jungle Extremes area. It rises to about 20 metres above the valley.
  • Height and age rules. Riders on the YAMBARU TORNADO must be at least four years old and 120 cm tall, which matters for families with young children.
  • An outdoor park. Most of the day is spent outside, in Okinawa's heat and rain.

How do we plan a group day there?

  • Stay in the north. The park is a long transfer from Naha, so we base groups in the north of the island and pair the park with other sights on the Motobu Peninsula.
  • Book tickets first. We secure park tickets before we confirm the day, and check which rides need a separate reservation.
  • Check every rider. We collect children's ages and heights in advance, so nobody is turned away at the gate of a ride.
  • Plan for the weather. We keep a covered fallback for heavy rain and plan breaks out of the midday sun in summer.
