Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo: Planning Groups

7 October 2026 · Explera Trade Desk · 2 min read

Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter opened in June 2023 on the site of the former Toshimaen amusement park in Nerima, north-west Tokyo. It is a walk-through of sets, costumes and props from the films, and one of only two studio tours of its kind in the world, after the one near London. For families and fans it is often a must-see.

How it works

  • Timed tickets. Every ticket is for a set date and entry time, and guests enter within 30 minutes of it. An on-site ticket office sells what is left, but popular slots sell out, so we book ahead.
  • Allow time. The tour advises three to four hours, with no time limit inside. It is a half-day, not a quick stop.
  • Easy access. The tour is a two-minute walk from Toshimaen Station, on the Seibu and Toei Oedo lines. The Seibu train from Ikebukuro takes about 20 minutes.
  • Busy dates. Weekends, school holidays and Japanese holidays sell out first.
Film equipment on a set: the tour shows how the films were made, not a theme park ride.

Planning a group visit

  • Book early. We secure tickets for the right date and time before we confirm the rest of the day.
  • Pick the entry time. A morning entry leaves the afternoon free for other parts of Tokyo.
  • Food on site. There are restaurants and cafés on site, so a group can eat without leaving.
  • Shopping. The shop is large and popular. We allow time, and we remind clients that large suitcases go in the coin lockers.
  • Mixed groups. Not every client is a fan. We can plan a separate half-day for others in the group.

How we plan it

We book the timed tickets, arrange transport to Toshimaen, and build the rest of the day around the entry time. See our theme parks guide, our family tours guide and our film and TV locations guide.
