Explera DMC Japan is adding TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO to its Hokkaido plans for autumn 2027. The hotel opens on 17 September 2027 in the Sapporo Daibiru building in Odori, central Sapporo. It has 107 rooms, a bath house with saunas and the first Sapporo restaurant of Sushi Saito. It is the brand's first hotel outside Tokyo.
It is also the largest TRUNK(HOTEL) so far.
What will TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO offer?
- 107 rooms. 89 standard rooms and 18 suites, on the upper floors of the building.
- A bath house on the 18th floor. TRUNK(BATH HOUSE) has about ten bathing areas along a 40-metre water channel, plus saunas and cold baths. Separate areas are planned for men and women.
- Sushi Saito. The Tokyo sushi restaurant opens its first Sapporo branch on the 10th floor, using Hokkaido ingredients.
- More on the 10th floor. The same floor holds an all-day restaurant, a lounge bar and event space.
- Close to the subway. Odori Station is a short walk away.
How do we plan groups around it?
- Small groups and incentives. With 107 rooms, the hotel suits a small incentive or a private group. Larger groups need a second hotel.
- Food-led programmes. Sushi Saito and the Hokkaido food scene make the hotel a good base for a food programme. Seats at a counter restaurant are limited, so we plan these early.
- Autumn in Hokkaido. The opening date falls in early autumn, before the ski season. We pair Sapporo with Otaru, Furano or Jozankei for a short programme.
