Days 1–2Fukuoka
Arrive Fukuoka, which puts the client in the city centre in minutes rather than the hour every other Japanese gateway costs. Dazaifu in the morning before the coach groups, the river yatai stalls after dark — the only street-food culture in Japan that still operates at scale.

Days 3–4Beppu and Yufuin
Across by limited express or road in around two hours. Beppu is industrial about its steam — several distinct water chemistries inside one town — and Yufuin is the quiet counterweight. Walk Yufuin's main street before ten or after four; between those hours it belongs to day-trippers.

Day 5Aso
Over the Kuju range into the caldera — one of the largest in the world, with towns and rice inside the rim. Crater access depends on the volcanic alert level and closes at short notice, so the day is built around the grasslands and the rim road with the crater as a bonus, never as the reason to be there.

Days 6–7Nagasaki
Dejima and the Chinese and Dutch trading history in the morning, the Peace Park given proper time rather than half an hour, and the harbour panorama from Inasayama by ropeway after dark. The Gunkanjima landing is cancelled often on sea conditions; we sell the cruise as a possibility, not a fixture.

Out from either, or two and a half hours by rail back to Osaka if the client is joining this to a mainland programme.
