Formula 1 published the 2027 calendar on 16 September 2026, and the Japanese Grand Prix now has a date: 9–11 April 2027 at Suzuka, round four of 24. It is also the first time Suzuka hosts an F1 Sprint, so the Saturday carries a race as well as qualifying. For agents who held interest on the basis of our 2027 planning guide, this is the moment to convert.
What is confirmed
- The weekend. Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April 2027, round four, after Australia and before China.
- A Sprint weekend. Formula 1 is running ten Sprint events in 2027, up from six, and Japan is one of them. That changes the value of a Saturday ticket and the shape of a three-day package.
- The contract. Suzuka's deal with Formula 1 runs to 2029, so this is not a one-off.
What is not yet confirmed
- Session times. The detailed timetable comes later. We plan transfers around the published times, not around last year's.
- Ticket prices and packages. Suzuka Circuit has announced that 2027 tickets go on sale on 15 November 2026. Grandstand and hospitality inventory is released through official channels, and the best seats go on the first day.

What the date means for your clients
- Blossom overlap. Early April can still overlap the end of the cherry-blossom season in central Japan, one of the busiest weeks of the year. See our cherry blossom guide.
- Rooms go first. Hotels near Suzuka are few. Most groups stay in Nagoya, Yokkaichi or further out, and those rooms are under pressure the moment a date is known.
- Transfers. Race-day roads and trains around the circuit are very busy. Our circuit access guide explains how we move groups.
- A stronger Saturday. With a Sprint on the Saturday, a three-day pass is easier to sell than before.
How we plan it
We confirm rooms against the new date, prepare ticket requests for the 15 November release, and build transfers and side trips around the race. For hospitality options, see our sports hospitality guide.
