Motegi is the race to sell to a client who would never get near a Formula 1 ticket at Suzuka. It is a world-championship round with a real paddock atmosphere, good seats available at sensible lead times, and a location that opens up Tochigi — Nikko, Kinugawa's ryokan, and the Utsunomiya food scene — in a way that Suzuka never opens up Mie.
- Ticket availability is genuinely better than Formula 1, so a late enquiry can still become a good weekend rather than a disappointment.
- Nikko is under two hours away, which means the motorsport weekend attaches naturally to one of Japan's great cultural sites.
